One of the best Ubisoft games of all time is 100 percent free with no strings attached. Ubisoft has been around since 1986 and over those many years it has created many great games and series such as: Distant scream, Assassin’s Creed, splinter group, Ghost Recon, Raymanand Prince of Persia. However, many of its best games — or at least the top-rated games — shipped between 2000 and 2010, one of gaming’s great decades. For example the very first splinter group delivered during this window in 2002. 20 years later, Ubisoft has made it available to everyone for free to celebrate its anniversary.
The game was developed by Ubisoft Montreal when Ubisoft was still known as “Ubi Soft” and was exclusive to Xbox when it was released. And on release, it received a 92 on Metacritic. Since then it has been available on many other platforms including PC, the version made available for free through the Ubisoft Store. The offer, which is available until November 30th, saves you $10 as the game normally costs $9.99.
“Infiltrate terrorist positions, obtain critical intel by any means necessary, execute with extreme prejudice, and leave without a trace,” reads an official blurb about the game. “You are Sam Fisher, a highly trained secret agent of the NSA’s secret arm: Third Echelon. The balance of the world is in your hands as cyberterrorism and international tensions explode in WW3.”
In 2022, Wikipedia notes that it’s “one of the best games ever made,” and it’s more relevant than it’s been in many years because of it splinter group Remake/Reboot currently in development at Ubisoft.
