Special Olympics 2023 Winter Games Take Place This Week in Lawrenceburg

Athletes from Indiana and Ohio will compete.

(Lawrenceburg, Indiana) – Special Olympics athletes from Indiana and Ohio will compete in Lawrenceburg this week.

The 2023 Winter Games will be held on Monday, January 9th and Tuesday, January 10th at Perfect North Slopes.

Monday will include a practice session, preliminary rounds and practice competitions. The final round of competitions in alpine skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing will take place on Tuesday.

“We are very excited to have Special Olympics return to Southeast Indiana for their 2023 Winter Games,” said Debbie Smith, executive director of the Dearborn County Convention, Visitor & Tourism Bureau, which helps market the area to visitors and large groups. “This is a great organization with such an empowering message and mission. Our community is very excited to welcome this group and we hope all Special Olympics athletes, organizers and volunteers will have a great time at Perfect North.”
