The PlayStation State of Play from September 13, 2022 offered fans a lot of content with almost 30 minutes of stream time. Here are all the games that were featured.

Tekken 8 announcement
A trailer featuring a fight between Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima gave fans the first confirmation of Tekken 8.
“This trailer was actually pulled straight from a specific part of the Tekken 8 story mode currently in progress, to be played on PlayStation 5. In other words, all character models, backgrounds and effects are the same as used in game. Although this was captured from the story mode, it’s not a pre-rendered movie created for the trailer, but rather real-time rendered footage running at 60 frames per second, similar to how you view the game in versus combat mode would experience. said Katsuhiro Harada, executive producer of the Tekken project.
God of War Ragnarok Story Trailer
The long-awaited God of War Ragnarök gives us a glimpse into the story with yet another trailer. A God of War Ragnarök-themed DualSense wireless controller has also been announced.
“As the All-Father brings his characters onto the board, Kratos and Atreus must decide whether they are bound by fate or look beyond the written and create their own destiny,” noted Grace Orlady, Lead Community Manager at Santa Monica Studio.
Rise of the Ronin
Team Ninja, the developers who brought us Dead or Alive, Nioh, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 and more, revealed their latest title: Rise of the Ronin.
Team Ninja Director and President Fumihiko Yasuda shared a few words: “We started this project seven years ago. And since then, development has progressed slowly and freely, much like the mind of a ronin. It is our great pleasure to finally bring this title to light and we are so grateful to be able to make this announcement with PlayStation, who have supported us and this project over the years.”

“It all started a few years ago when our team got together and passionately discussed how we could break into the sci-fi genre or even break the whole barrier,” said Synduality producer Yosuke Futami. “With the advent of technology these days and the increasing importance of artificial intelligence in our daily lives, we were particularly interested in how humans and AI would interact in the future. Will they coexist? Do they share the same belief in feelings or feelings? Can they intertwine? Those were the questions that eventually led to an exodus of this project, and hopefully you would join us as we explore together the adventures that lie ahead,” he added.

A new story trailer for Project Eve, titled Stellar Blade, has been unveiled. It shows Eve and her companions crossing paths with Adam as he leads them to Xion, the last surviving city. Fighting the NA:tive together on a mission to save the earth.
Shift Up Corp. Director Kim Hyung Tae provided some more context behind the title change: “This is our second encounter since the PlayStation Showcase in September 2021. I’m over the moon to reveal the official name for our game, previously Project Eve was called and share a new trailer that reveals new characters and their roles in this story. And I bring you the official title, spanning Eve’s stylish action and her long and winding adventure… Stellar Blade.
The title is a combination of Stellar, which means stars in Latin, and Blade, which defines Eve’s existence.
Where the tip of this blade takes you is entirely up to you.”
Hogwarts Legacy PlayStation exclusive quest
Hogwarts Legacy will have a PlayStation exclusive quest: The Haunted Hogsmeade Shop. It includes an additional dungeon, the shopkeeper’s cosmetic set, and an in-game Hogsmeade shop available to all players on PlayStation.
Avalanche Software Community Manager Chandler Wood kicked things up a notch. “Cassandra Mason has a shop to sell in Hogsmeade, but all is not as it seems in this rundown place. What dark secrets lie beneath Madam Mason’s shop, and why was she so keen to sell it? This is a mystery that Hogwarts Legacy players will uncover in the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest, available exclusively on PlayStation platforms.”
Pacific Drive
Pacific Drive is a rogue-lite first-person survival game. Your car protects you from the dangers of the Olympic Exclusion Zone as long as you keep it running.
“Since its inception in 2019, Ironwood Studios has worked hard on Pacific Drive and we are extremely proud to be working with PlayStation to bring it to life. Our team loves to fill surreal environments with layered systems that allow players to create their own unexpected and unique experiences. We always dream of urban legends and the forests of the Pacific Northwest – two things the Olympic Exclusion Zone is absolutely full of. It also doesn’t hurt that we’re all big fans of a good old-fashioned road trip,” said Blake Dove, communications and marketing specialist for Ironwood Studios.
Like a dragon: Ishin!
The minds behind Yakuza: Like a Dragon revealed a spin-off title set in 1860s Kyo, the fictional version of Kyoto. The protagonist is Sakamoto Ryoma, a true historical figure who is credited with overthrowing the shogunate and radically reforming Japan.
David Hinds, Sega of America’s Global Community Manager, announced the game’s release date: Today is a very special day. Not only for RGG Studio, the masterminds behind Yakuza: Like a Dragon, but for all our fans worldwide who have been eagerly awaiting the most legendary lost chapter from the creators of the Like a Dragon series. We’ve read your Twitter comments, seen your Fan Content, and are thrilled to announce that the legend’s action-packed samurai title, Like a Dragon: Ishin!, will release worldwide in February 2023.”

Demeo, originally released for PC and Oculus Quest, is coming to PlayStation VR2 and PlayStation 5. The award-winning tabletop role-playing game and dungeon crawler will take full advantage of the haptics of the PS VR2 Sense controller, headset and DualSense wireless controller that amplify the immersion
“The visual fidelity of both PlayStation 5 and PS VR2 gave us many reasons to overhaul our graphics to take advantage of the PlayStation hardware. If you thought the heroes and monsters looked intimidating before, just wait until you see them with our latest shaders! Refresh rate is also a key factor in creating a comfortable virtual experience, which is why we’re excited to be able to leverage the 120Hz refresh rate on the PS VR2,” said Gustav Stenmark, Producer at Resolution Games.
Star Wars: Tales from the Edge of the Galaxy
Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge was first made available on Oculus Quest in late 2020 and is now coming to PlayStation VR2 in 2023. Lucasfilm’s ILMxLAB rebuilt the experience to “take advantage of many of the improvements that the hardware has to offer”.
“The game takes all the technology that PS VR2 has to offer and pushes the possibilities of VR to immerse you in the world of Star Wars like never before. The high-fidelity visual experience includes headset-based controller tracking and eye-tracking to ensure your movements and line of sight are reflected as you play,” said Scott Mayer, ILMxLAB Publicity Manager.
“Audio and haptics also play an important role in the experience, where you can hear the soundscape with rich 3D audio and feel even the smallest details with the haptics built into the PS VR2 Sense controller and headset. Combining all the sensory features that PS VR2 has to offer, the experience will make you feel like you’re living in the Star Wars galaxy,” Mayer added.
