The reward for Premier League club fans who subscribe to Peacock Premium is real. Not only does the service enhance the Premier League experience, but there are some really exciting developments in the works. That includes plans for Peacock to start streaming 4K Premier League matches from next year.
John Jelley, Senior Vice President, Product & UX at Peacock, spoke to World Soccer Talk about the news over the phone.
“We have plans for Dolby Atmos alongside 4K next year. We are also planning 5.1 audio for next year.
“I think these will really enhance the game’s premium experience for those who have the option to watch it in 4K, Dolby Atmos or 5.1 audio.”
That Peacock has plans for Premier League games in 4K is music to football fans’ ears. That’s in addition to all the football programming on Peacock’s schedule.
Latest availability of Premier League matches in 4K
Premier League matches are currently available in 4K via fuboTV, YouTube TV and DirecTV. About 15 games per month are available in 4K, which is a significant increase compared to last season.
There is no doubt that the picture quality of a game in 4K is far better, especially on a large TV.
Peacock is already rolling out 4K programming
Peacock Premium is available for $4.99 per month and is already rolling out 4K programming for its films. This includes The black phone, Unpolished gemschoose movies in the Fast and Furious Series and more, according to reports.
The list of Peacock supported devices is too long to mention here. But it’s safe to say that it’s available on all major media devices from your computer, phone, smart TV and media player.
