Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is arguably the most unstoppable player in the NBA today. Defenders have to tremble with fear every night before they face the Mavs, and that’s especially true for Texas teams. For one, all of Doncic’s previous 50-point breakouts have happened in his fledgling NBA career at the Lone Star State.
“Of Luke’s 5 50-point games, 3 were home games in Dallas and the other 2 away games in Houston and San Antonio. All three cities are in the state of Texas,” notes Redditor u/BayonettaBasher.
Of course, this includes Luka Doncic’s most recent goal explosion on Monday evening at home against the Detroit Pistons. In that game, Doncic torched the Pistons from the field for 53 points on 17-to-24 shots, including five 3-pointers on 11 attempts from deep. He also knocked down 14 of 18 attempts from the free throw line. For those keeping count, this is Doncic’s fourth 50-point performance this season and fifth overall of his career. It seems like Doncic has already scored every possible individual goal in the NBA despite being only in his fifth season in the league, but if there’s at least one thing some fans want to see from him it’s a 50- Score nugget in a game outside of Texas.
The Mavs are set to play the New Orleans Pelicans at home next Thursday, so Luka Doncic won’t be able to fulfill the desire of fans who want him to score a non-Texas 50 pointer until Saturday at the earliest, when Dallas plans a trip to the Bay Area undertakes to compete against the Golden State Warriors.
