Lions fall down

ADRIAN – The Finlandia University men’s ice hockey team (1-9 NCHA, 2-13-1) lost 7-1 to #3 Adrian (8-2 NCHA, 14-2-1) on Saturday afternoon at Arrington Arena.

In the first 11 minutes, Adrian and Finlandia fought at eye level. The Bulldogs scored four goals in two minutes to seal the game.

Senior Phil Schader scored in the third period and led FinnU with three blocked shots. Sophomore Dakota Meyer finished with 45 saves.

Finlandia meets Bulldogs

ADRIAN — The Lions lost 6-0 to the Bulldogs at Arrington Arena on Friday night.

Finlandia and Adrian made it in the first 40 minutes. At the 3:34 mark, junior Kevin Bostwick fired a shot that was saved at the last moment.

With 2:57 left in the opening period, the Bulldogs crept in for a 1-0 lead. The lions had two strong chances to score in the second period, which were stopped by great moves. Adrian pulled away in the third third.

The Lions were very active on defense, blocking 17 shots led by Alex Walsh (five) and freshman Connor Nagy (four). Sophomore Nick Solema had 11 faceoff wins. Meyer finished with 54 saves.

Next

Finlandia returns home on Friday January 20th and plays Lawrence. The game is scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m
