Game Recap: Eagles 26, Cowboys 17

• Lane Johnson is officially out for the rest of the night with a concussion. Driscoll stays in the right tackle. First pull from scrimmage, Hurts rolls right and hits Dallas Goedert for a 14-yard gain. The crossers gave the cowboys seizures all night. However, the offense falters from there and the Eagles are forced to punt.

• The Cowboys scored 10 straight points to get back into the ball game. Dallas gave Philly a taste of their own medicine with misdirected plays capped by a 14-yard touchdown by Elliott. It’s now 20-10 with 8:19 in the third quarter.

• Another injury to watch: Safety CJ Gardner-Johnson went into the dressing room on that touchdown drive after a 3-yard run by Tony Pollard. He was replaced by K’Von Wallace. The team announced that Ceedy’s return with a hand injury is in doubt.

• Looking for a spark, the Eagles were up against a third and 10 before Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons was called to the taunt. That gave the Eagles a first down, but they couldn’t capitalize and were still forced to punt.

• Gardner-Johnson returned to Dallas in the middle of the next drive.

• Dallas’ drive extends from the Eagles’ 12-yard line. On the first snap, Slay was called out for illegal contact to put the Cowboys in a goal-to-go situation from the 7-yard line. The Cowboys ended the drive in the next game with a touchdown pass from Rush to Jake Ferguson. Suddenly the game is 20-17 at 14:39. Dallas’ drive went 15 plays for 93 yards in 7:07.

• The Eagles defend their three-point lead and come out with the ball. Sanders gained 13 yards on the first play of the drive. Later, in third and third place, Hurts escaped pocket pressure to score the first down. Kenneth Gainwell faced another third and fourth and got the handoff of shotgun hurts and worked his way through for the first down conversion. On the third and 1, Hurts kept the ball on a sneak to move the chains, but left guard Landon Dickerson came out after the game and was replaced by Sua Opeta. Finally a breakthrough as Hurts connects with Brown, who spins off the defender and gains 22 yards. On the next play, Hurts found a wide-open DeVonta Smith in the end zone for the touchdown. Note that Dickerson returned at the end of the ride.

• Dallas cornerback Trevon Diggs was frustrated after the touchdown and nailed his helmet, resulting in an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. The Eagles accept the penalty and go for the two-point conversion, but Sanders was stuffed at the line of scrimmage. The score is 26-17 with 7:02 remaining in play.

• Brandon Graham picked a great time to put pressure on Rush! On the second and eighth of the Dallas 40, Graham Rush hit and the pass down the left touchline, meant for Lamb, was intercepted by Gardner-Johnson, who made a GREAT jump grab to get the ball back for the Eagles. It’s Ceedy’s second interception that night.

• The Eagles are unable to take the lead as Kelce snapped the ball to Hurts with the shotgun in third and seventh, but the quarterback wasn’t ready for the ball. Hurts recovered, but the Eagles jabbed the ball to the 12-yard line with 2:39 remaining.

• The Cowboys settled for 4th and 10th place in the Eagles’ 41 with a 59-yard attempt, and Brett Maher missed wide to the right to end the comeback attempt.
