The La Cañada High School college girls’ soccer team lost a Rio Hondo League game in Monrovia last Friday 3-1 when Hailee Takao scored the only goal as a sophomore.
The Spartans were previously shut out 2-0 in South Pasadena after conceding two goals in the first 10 minutes.
LCHS hosted Temple City for a league competition yesterday; the game ended after Outlook Valley Sun’s editorial deadline and will be included in next week’s edition.
La Cañada (4-4-1 overall, 1-2 league) will visit Blair High in Pasadena on Friday, January 20 at 3:15 p.m. before hosting South Pasadena on Wednesday, January 25 .
FLINTRIDGE PREPARATION

The Wolves defeated Mayfield Senior of Pasadena 2-1 in a Prep League game last Friday. It was a crucial clash between two of the league’s best teams as Flintridge Prep claimed sole possession of first place in the table.
Seniors Chayse Ying and Presley Nevadomsky each scored a goal, while senior Miranda Thomson had two assists.
Wolves previously beat their rival Pasadena Poly 9-0 in a league game. Senior Sage Shurman had two goals and two assists, Nevadomsky had two goals and senior goalie Ana Bozzi-Mackay notched her fifth shutout of the season. Newcomers Scarlett Coombes and Ying each recorded a goal and an assist, while sophomore Dagny Marion, sophomore Valentina Mancilla and sophomore Valentina Ronga each scored once. Thomson finished the game with two assists while junior Zaria Echemendia had one.
Flintridge Prep (11-2-2 overall, 3-0-1 league) will visit Palos Verdes Chadwick on Friday January 20 at 3pm before heading to Westridge School in Pasadena travels.
FLINTRIDGE SACRED HEART

The Tologs were eliminated in a Mission League game last Friday by a 5-0 win over Harvard-Westlake in Studio City.
FSHA drew 1-1 in a league game Wednesday while visiting Chaminade High of West Hills when junior captain Sachi Kaneko-Grun scored once.
The Tologs previously drew 2-2 in a league game while visiting Marymount High in Los Angeles. Senior captain Annamaria Vazquez scored twice while Kaneko-Grun owed two assists.

The Tologs (6-3-2 overall, 0-2-2 league) will host Sherman Oaks at Notre Dame High in a league rematch on Wednesday, January 25 at 5:00 p.m. Flintridge Sacred Heart previously lost their league opener at Notre Dame, 6-3, on Jan. 6.
