What you need to know for Tuesday’s MLB games

By Derek Carty

  • Tuesday brings us several good pitchers to consider via streaming, although some are only available in about a quarter of the leagues. Taijuan Walker (78%), Sean Manaea (77%) and Jon Gray (61%) are all worth mentioning if available in your league considering they make up three of the top five pitchers of the day overall.

  • Below the 50% mark, Jose Quintana (46%) would be our top pick. He goes into a strong pitcher’s park in Pittsburgh to confront one of the weakest offenses in the league.

  • If you need someone who will almost certainly be available, check out Michael Lorenzen (10%). He heads to Oakland, where he faces one of baseball’s worst offenses at an elite pitcher park with the best pitching weather of the day.

  • The Yankees, Rangers, Tigers and Mariners are all playing a double header today. Yankees and Mariners project best, but finding someone from those games likely to play both halves of the double-header is a great streaming opportunity. Since Aaron Judge is probably already listed in your league, look at the Yankees’ Josh Donaldson (64%) and Harrison Bader (25%). The Mariners feature Mitch Haniger (71%), Jesse Winker (71%), JP Crawford (66%), Eugenio Suarez (62%) and Jarred Kelenic (30%). Among the Tigers and Rangers are Javier Baez (69%), Josh Jung (6%), Riley Greene (13%), Leody Taveras (5%), Spencer Torkelson (42%) and Akil Baddoo (8%).

  • If you’re trying to pull off a steal or two before the season is over, the Yankees offer help on that as well. Jon Gray is easy to steal. Even if you don’t manage to get two games out of your streamers, you still have a good chance of getting a hit if your pickup happens to be playing in that game. Harrison Bader (25%), Oswald Peraza (1%) and Isiah Kiner-Falefa (15%) would have the best chances if they were in the lineup.
