  • Indian women’s ice hockey team head coach Janneke Schopman and goaltender Savita Punia have expressed their displeasure with the referee’s decision to make Australia repeat their first penalty shot in their semi-final game at the Commonwealth after saving games here.
  • Indian goalkeeper Savita had saved Ambrosia Malone’s shot, but the referees soon intervened and called for a replay as the timer malfunctioned and wouldn’t start.
  • Australia shot again and this time they scored and won the penalty shootout 3-0, capping an impressive comeback from the Indian side who trailed 1-0 for much of the game before returning to equalize in the fourth quarter.
