    CWG 2022 badminton LIVE score updates: Sindhu wins opening Game 

    PV Sindhu takes the first game in the second match of the mixed team event. It wasn’t the cakewalk as was expected for the Indian ace. The Singapore shuttler Jia Min Yeo gave the Indian former world champion and two-time Olympic medallist a fair bit of workout but Sindhu warmed up after the first break and took the game. 

    Good sign for India as they are already 1-0 up in the mixed-team semis against Singapore.

    Shushila Devi tries to find a firm grip on her opponent Michaela Whitebooi, but a smart counter sends the Indian down on the mat. Whitebooi takes advantage and keeps Devi down with an arm lock. 

    Devi then shows good comeback. She also tries to topple Whitebooi on the mat with a technical move but the latter quickly recovers and avoids it. 

    With things on level terms, the action moves to golden score and Whitebooi seals the gold medal by forcing Devi on the mat. It was a strong grip by Whitebooi and Devi crashes on the mat while trying to get out of it. The South African judoka gets the advantage and she capitalises on it and wins the gold medal. 

    Shushila Devi’s valiant effort will get her a silver medal in the women’s 47kg judo at CWG 2022.

    Ronaldo Laitonjam clocked 1:02.500 in Men’s 1000m Time Trial Final. Impressive indeed, but the Indian finished 12th among 20 cyclist who participated in the contest. Australia’s Matthew Glaetzer bagged the gold medal after clocking 59.505 while his compatriot Thomas Cornish finished second (1:00.036). Nicholas Paul of Trinidad and Tobago finished third (1:00.089).

    CWG Live Updates, Day 4: Indian contingent eyes more success

    The Indian contingent will be looking forward to progress further in sports like squash, lawn bowls, boxing and hockey, with some more medals in sight in weightlifting.

    In Men’s 81 kg weightlifting, Ajay Singh will be in action from 2:00 PM onwards, with an aim to seal another medal for his country. India have dominated the sport with five medals so far in the 2022 CWG edition.

    On Saturday, Mirabai Chanu had headlined a four medal count with her gold medal in the women’s 49kg event. She won the first gold medal for India in the women’s 49kg category, while Sanket Sargar won the first medal overall in the men’s 55kg event.
