Week 3 of the college football season seems to be a little weak on marquee matchups — on paper, at least — but let’s remember that Week 2 taught us that the best games often come from unexpected places. With every AP Top 25 team in action on Saturday, rest assured there’s more mayhem to come on a slate of four loaded waves of games that will carry fans through the day.
The nation’s new No. 1 team takes the stage early as Georgia battles South Carolina. The Bulldogs are one of four top-10 teams in action in the early window of the day. The afternoon list features a few of the day’s best matchups, as Auburn hosts No. 22 Penn State on CBS and No. 25 Oregon hosts No. 12 BYU.
More juicy non-conference games are lined up for the evening, with No. 16 State hosting Texas Tech and No. 11 State traveling to Washington. No. 10 Arkansas also finds itself in a unique game against former Missouri State Razorbacks coach Bobby Petrino. We’ll also see No. 24 Texas A&M recover from a stunning loss to Appalachian State when the Aggies host No. 13 Miami. The late-night list features USC No. 14 as San Diego State host and USC No. 7 as Fresno State host in games that will last into the early hours for many viewers on Sunday.
