The college football bowl season finally hit its first rehearsal of the annual New Year’s Six rotation on Friday, as the Orange Bowl leads the way among five prominent games televised today.
First up in the late morning/afternoon is the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, which this year sees a Big Ten vs. ACC tilt between Maryland and NC State, with the winning head coach dousing a few gallons of mayo after the game shall be.
From there, the action shifts to the desert when the annual Sun Bowl gets underway in El Paso, while Pittsburgh takes on a resurgent UCLA team that should find star quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson and running back Zach Charbonnet to sign up for join forces for one last rodeo.

Notre Dame faces SEC challenger South Carolina in the Gator Bowl with Fighting Irish Down quarterback Drew Pyne substituted on and tight end Michael Mayer heading to the NFL draft.
And in prime time, a very orange Bowl takes place between ACC Champion Clemson and former College Football Playoff favorites Tennessee from Miami.
