Humble, often referred to as the Humble Bundle, is an online PC games store that uses a portion of its proceeds to support various charities. It is known for selling high-quality game packages with a unique pay-what-you-want pricing model.
The company also has a subscription service called Humble Choice that costs $12 per month. The service offers a new selection of games each month that members can claim and keep indefinitely.

What is Humble Bundle?
Humble is best known for selling Humble Bundles, which are themed bundles of PC games offered at a huge discount. Even better, you can choose how much you pay. Each pack has a minimum price that you must pay to get the full collection, but you can always pay less for a smaller selection of games.
For example, to get all eight titles in the current Walking Dead 10th Anniversary Bundle (worth $174), you’ll have to pay at least $11 – but if you only pay $1, you can still get three of the games to get. Each pack only lasts for a limited time, so it’s a good place to look for big savings every once in a while.
In addition to games, Humble also offers bundles of books and software.
Is Humble Bundle Legit?
Although the deals seem too good to be true, Humble Bundle is a real deal, offering buyers great savings while also donating a portion of the proceeds to charity. It works with major video game developers like Capcom, Bandai Namco, and Sega to bring popular titles to gamers at pay-what-you-want prices.
However, Humble is a commercial entity and is not considered a tax-exempt 501(c) nonprofit. It is not a non-profit organization and your purchases do not count as charitable donations – although a portion will go towards such causes.
What is Humble Choice?

Humble Choice is Humble’s subscription gaming service, offering members a new selection of games each month to download and keep forever.
Here’s how it works: Each month you choose which games you want to claim from the selection available. Humble will then give you a redemption key for each to enter into the required game launcher such as Steam, Epic Games, or Origin. The game is yours even if you cancel your Humble Choice subscription.
In addition to this core benefit, Choice membership grants you a handful of other sweet perks, like shopping discounts and access to the Humble Games Collection, where you can play even more games for as long as you remain a member.
How much is Humble Choice?
Humble Bundle Monthly Choice Membership costs $12 per month or $129 per year. That’s a savings of $15 if you opt for the annual plan.
When are new Humble Choice titles coming out?
New sets of Humble Choice games are announced on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am PT/1:00 pm ET.
What benefits does Humble Choice offer?
The main attraction of a Humble Choice membership is definitely new games every month. Overall, the service includes:
- New PC games every month to keep forever.
- A progressive member discount on the Humble Store, starting at 20% once you’ve been a member for a year.
- Access to the Humble Games Collection via the Humble Desktop App during subscription.

What types of games are included in Humble Choice?

The service doesn’t always include expensive, high-demand titles, but you can expect to find a varied selection of games to choose from, from older major releases to brand new indie drops.
For example, in July 2022, Deep Rock Galactic, a very popular 2018 first-person shooter that normally costs $30, was introduced alongside Yes, Your Grace, a 2020 indie resource management sim.

What happens to games I don’t redeem from my Humble Choice membership?

Games that you do not redeem will remain available in your account and will not expire. You can choose to claim them weeks, months or even years after they become available.
Just note that games are not automatically downloaded to your PC; You must claim all the games you want individually.
What charities does the Humble Bundle support?
Humble Bundle supports a different charity each month. In August, the National Network of Abortion Funds presents it.
The company has raised a lot of money over the years for various causes including the ACLU, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Girls Who Code, Charity: Water and One Tree Planted. Each purchase or subscription contributes in part to a participating charity.
Is Humble Choice worth it?
If you’re a regular PC gamer, Humble Bundle’s Choice membership is totally worth it. Even though the only benefit you get is the monthly downloads, it only costs $12 for a handful of games that are worth much, much more. August 2022, for example, brings a total of $191 worth of PC downloads on Steam – now all yours at a fraction of the cost.
As a longtime Humble Choice member, I’ve become one for life. Not only have I been able to download games I’ve wanted for a long time, but I’ve also found many fantastic new titles that I wouldn’t have bought otherwise. I can even pass on any games I don’t want to interested friends. It also feels good to know that my monthly contribution supports a good cause.
