PHILADELPHIA – A 7-year-old boy was the victim of a shooting when police say he was innocently playing video games in his room on Saturday night.
Police responded to reports of gunfire in the 200 Block of Collom Street, where they found the boy with a gunshot wound to the leg.
He was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where his condition is said to be stable.
The boy was reportedly playing video games in his second-floor bedroom when gunshots rang out around 9:40 p.m. His mother was also in the house at the time but was not hit.
Police say the gunman aimed at the house and fired at least four times into multiple rooms. Four spent bullet casings were found at the scene, which police say are connected to four holes in the wall of the house.
