Autometer Water Temp Gauge Not Working. Then. i used a two gauge mounting bracket. also from autometer. but transferred the hole pattern of the holes that were already there. so i didnt drill any new holes. The pointer will move backward to the stop pin and then display actual temperature.

#2 · jun 3. 2009. Verify ohm signal from sending unit turn your vehicle on and let it warm up. If the resistance measured does not match the gauge. the problem will likely be the gauge.
The guage should go thru the full range of motion when you ground it. Since the gauge is pegged. it is getting full voltage somehow.
My journey included a 1 mile drive at 35mph to the freeway. and then 8 miles at 75mph with an outside temp of 75*. Disconnect wire from temp sensor(should be 1 wire connector) and ground the wire.
You could also verify that it isnt the sender with your multimeter. The pointer will move backward to the stop pin and then display actual temperature.
When its warm. it stays pegged out. Do not touch ignition wire to the sender (s) terminal on back of gauge or the sender may be damaged.
They are the classic. autometer looking ones. I have autometer instrument cluster lunar series. its electrical.
Disconnect wire from temp sensor(should be 1 wire connector) and ground the wire. The biggest reason i wanted this gauge is because my stock water temp.
There Should Also Be A Cable To Connect It To The Box.
When its warm. it stays pegged out. If the resistance measured matched the gauge reading. the problem will likely either be the sender. or that the engine really is running the temperature that your gauge is displaying. That of the water in the cooling system. that of the engine lubricating oil and that of the outside air.as auto manufacturers enhanced the dashboards from the rudimentary speedo and fuel gauge. they used two types of gauge:
They Are The Classic. Autometer Looking Ones.
21⁄16 diameter gauges mount in 21⁄16 hole. 25⁄8 diameter gauges mount in 25⁄8 hole. The cyberdyne probe will go into one hole. and insert two 3/8 hose adapters into the two other holes. The biggest reason i wanted this gauge is because my stock water temp.
My Truck Has A Set Of Summit Gauges.
You can always give it the official engineers tap (thats three taps gently on the face) and they should spring to life. Youll need to ground the t so the electric probe will work. Just take your probe or gauge into the store and find the t that fits.
Autometer Full Sweep (Digital Stepper Motor) Gauges Will Not Perform A Full Sweep.
Disconnect wire from temp sensor(should be 1 wire connector) and ground the wire. #2 · jun 3. 2009. It was the 7075 autometer gauge kit with analog gauges.
All The Way Hot When Grounded.
Discussion starter · #1 · aug 23. 2010. Autometer water temp gauge not working. A mechanical probe doesnt need to be grounded.
