EAST GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T’s 2023 softball schedule includes 22 home games, including hosting a season-opening weekend tournament at the Lady Aggies Softball Complex. Interim head coach Diego Ibarra announced the new schedule on Tuesday.
The Aggies’ season-opening tournament (February 10-12) includes Youngstown State and Norfolk State. After hosting a tournament, the Aggies will be guests at three consecutive tournaments beginning with a tournament hosted by Winthrop University February 17-19 in Rock Hill, SC. A week later, the Aggies will play Georgia Southern’s GATA Challenge in Statesboro. Ga., 24.-26. February. Finally, NC A&T returns to South Carolina on March 3-4 for the University of South Carolina tournament.
The day after the USC tournament ended, the Aggies will head north to play UNC Wilmington in a non-conference game on Sunday afternoon, March 5 at 5:30 p.m. in Rock Hill, SC.
NC A&T follows with five straight home games, starting with a midday doubleheader against Detroit Mercy on March 8th. Two more home doubleheaders follow with Quinnipiac on March 10 and the Aggies’ first-ever three-game Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) conference series. starting with a March 18 doubleheader against Drexel.
Drexel returns to the Complex for the series finale on March 19 before the Aggies play their last non-conference home game of the season against Appalachian State on March 22. NC A&T’s remaining non-conference road games will be held at NC State (March 29). at USC Upstate (April 4), at NC Central (April 12), and at App State (April 25).
Aggies’ remaining street CAA three-game series will be held at UNCW (March 25-26), Monmouth (April 7-8), Towson (April 15-16) and Hampton (April 29-30) The remaining home games of the conference are against Hofstra (April 1-2), College of Charleston (April 22-23), and Elon (May 5-6).
The CAA Tournament will be held May 9-13 at Bill Edwards Stadium in Hempstead, NY
