The 2022 NFL season was turbulent for the Green Bay Packers as nothing went their way. At 4-8, they’re basically out of the postseason, which means we need to turn our attention to the future.

Starting with defensive coordinator Joe Barry, this team has been a disappointment on so many levels. During the offseason and heading into preseason, there was a ton of hype surrounding Barry’s unit. Her destruction of the Packers offense at practice now shows that it was probably more about the fighting O than anything else.

These eight Green Bay Packers could be playing their final games with the franchise as the 2022 NFL season draws to a close.

Barry’s seat has gotten warmer and should get scorching hot as the season progresses. There’s really no reason to bring him back for a third season. He continues to play passive defense despite staff yelling aggressiveness.

He also failed to improve any of his players. Kenny Clark and Jaire Alexander — the Packers’ top two defensemen — have taken a step backwards in the past two years. Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage play the worst ball of their careers. Barry could coach the last five games of his Packers career.
