The original 2013 release of Last of Us is still fun and visually stunning, but the game’s remake for the Playstation 5 is amazing.

The Last Of Us is about Joel, the survivor of a zombie apocalypse, who accompanies Ellie, a young girl immune to an infection that turns people into zombies. While not technically zombies, the game’s “infected” have been mutated by the fictional Cordyceps brain infection.

The PS5 remake features a meticulously detailed world, smooth animations, sharp controls, and various options that were missing from the original version.

Resident Evil 2 was first released for PS1 in the late 90s and was remastered for the Playstation 4 in 2019. The remake keeps the spooky atmosphere of the original but expands it with improved graphics and more areas to explore.

You decide to play as Leon Kennedy or Claire Redfield, then try to escape from Raccoon City after its citizens turned into zombies due to a biological weapon manufactured by the Umbrella Corporation. Most of the narration sees you wandering through an abandoned police station infested with zombies.

After a few missteps in the Resident Evil series, this game returned to what made the story great.

Dying Light: The Following was released in 2016 and is a sequel to Dying Light. While the Dying Light series offers several great games, The Following is the pinnacle of this narrative so far.

You play as Kyle Crane who, after learning of a supposed cure for a zombie virus, sets out to investigate if such a cure exists. The game trades in the parkour elements from the first Dying Light for a more vehicle-based game. But if you want to slaughter zombies, customizable cars are a great way to do it.

The sequel to the original and quite possibly the best installment in the series, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record takes all the great things from the first game and adds some unique twists to make this game feel original. 1/10 Death Road to Canada

Death Road to Canada Hallway and Zombies

Zombie games take a variety of forms. Death Road to Canada mixes zombies with an Oregon Trail-like storyline. This game is hard and the music plays like catchy tunes and repeats every time you die.

The game features two zombie apocalypse survivors who take a road trip to Canada to stay safe. The game lasts two weeks as the two survivors try to reach the US-Canada border. Along the way, players will meet different characters who can accompany them on their journey. Sometimes “Siege Events” occur, where the player must survive a zombie horde for a set amount of time.
